Founded in 1997, Phi Lambda Educational Foundation, Inc., a 501(C)3 tax-exempt organization, was established to provide an environment that actively supports the advancement of education and to facilitate the implementation of many nationally recognized programs.
The mission of the Foundation is to implement academic and life skills programs that promote a holistic approach to the success of socio-economically disadvantaged and underserved youth and families in Southeast Raleigh and Wake County.
Each year the Foundation awards worthy African American Male high school seniors residing in Wake or Johnson Counties scholarships. The eligibility requirements and application requirements are below. Please apply online via the link below and download the application sheet and return it to the designated mailing address.
Eligibility: African-American male high school seniors residing and attending school in Wake or Johnston Counties with good scholastic and leadership records are eligible for the scholarships. Students selected to receive a $1,000.00 scholarship must be accepted to a four-year college or university before the scholarship is awarded.

- The application must be endorsed by his principal or high school guidance counselor.
- The application must include a reference form that has been completed by one of the applicant’s teachers.
- The application must include a second reference form that has been completed by a community leader.
- The application must include a 350-word essay.
- All applicants should visit www.Nationalblackscholars.com and sign up for the National Black Scholars Signing Day Program.
Finalists will be contacted for interview dates.
